Join Us Next Week at the History Theatre

On Wednesday May 11th Vail Place members will present a special performance in recognition of National Mental Health Month at the History Theatre in downtown St. Paul.
Recovery Theater – A Rare and Revealing Look at Mental Illness
Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Show 12 – 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.

May is Mental Health Month, a month to raise awareness about mental health conditions and the importance of good mental health for everyone. This year’s theme is Life With a Mental Illness and it highlights the importance of speaking up and sharing what mental illness feels like to someone going through it. Recovery Theater is real people using their own lives to create performances about mental illness to educate and illuminate. Everyone is invited to this free event followed by a special reception.

Through a variety of scenes, monologues, poetry, song, and dance, Vail Place members – adults with serious mental illnesses – reveal the often devastating challenges of living with a mental illness, as well as the healing and recovery that is possible with understanding and support.

The History Theatre is located at 30 East 10th Street, St. Paul. Click here for map and directions.
