Vail Place program philosophy is rooted in psychosocial rehabilitation principles and standards. These methods are designed to assist people with serious and persistent mental illness to manage their illness and recieve the opportunities and support necessary to live in the community. The goal is to provide opportunities to develop skills, confidence, and relationships, with a focus on participation, ownership, and self-sufficiency.
How to access services

Services include a number of options ranging from independent living assessment to long-term support in one's own apartment or home. All housing services are directed toward safe, affordable independent living in the community.

Vail Place has many levels of employment opportunities. We can gradually reintroduce a member to the routine and demands of the workplace by taking them through the pre-vocational program to the Transitional Employment Program and finally to Supported/Competitive Employment

Services focus on educational, ethnic and cultural, and social and recreational programming to meet the need for positive social interaction and cultural diversity.

The goal of case management is to ensure individuals are able to obtain the necessary services.
Vail Place has 6-year collaboration with Hennepin County and the State of Minnesota to provide intensive team case management for individuals at risk of hospitalization.

The program was developed to reach out to young adults struggling with a mental illness in addition to the trials that come with transitioning into adulthood. This program is focused on issues that are present specifically for young adults, providing support throughout these issues, as well as resources for additional assistance.

The goal of this program is to empower people with mental illness to serve as leaders in the mental health community. As a recovery-based model, the program relies on the skills and abilities of people with mental illness to support and improve the lives of others.

Assistance and instruction to access and maintain financial and health care benefits, and also financial literacy skills. The Vail Place Service Center is alos available to help members get their finances under control.
