Looking Back on 2015 with Gratitude

We’ve come so far this year, and we couldn’t have done it without the generosity of wonderful donors, the hard work of dependable volunteers, the dedication of a talented staff and beyond all else…the resilient spirit of each and every Vail Place member.

Our overall theme this year at Vail Place has been to build a vision for the future. This vision is grounded upon increasing awareness of our mission and most importantly, reaching more people in need. Highlights of our year have included:

  • The History Theatre Storytelling project, a unique presentation of Vail Place members that not only raised awareness about the challenges of living with serious mental illness, but inspired us with many amazing stories of recovery. This program was presented at the History Theater and several other community events, including a conference.
  • A focus on communications, which has helped raise visibility for Vail Place members and our organization via media stories in several outlets including MinnPost.com, the StarTribune and KARE11.
  • Passing legislation authorizing DHS to explore adding Clubhouse to the State Medicaid Plan which tied nicely with the appointment by Clubhouse International of Vail Place as an Orientation Site to help train other Clubhouse programs in the Midwest.
  • And, of course, the expansion of our facilities to serve an increasing number of members and to house our growing case management programs and administrative teams.

We look back on 2015 with gratitude for all the support for Vail Place and its mission, and look forward to even more accomplishments in 2016.
