What is a Resident Assistant?
The Resident Assistant supports the individual recovery goals of Vail House residents in coordinating services, such as crisis prevention and intervention, medication monitoring, attending to group supports, and independent goals.
Resident Assistants work assigned shifts and must be available to work additional hours until relieved of their shift. Weekend, holidays, and overnight hours may be required.
Who Are You? Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred.
- One-year related experience or training in chemical dependency, mental health, and/or homelessness. Preferred experience working in a residential setting.
- Other experiences working or training in human services, or direct supervision of people will also be considered.
Work Environment: Keeping Staff and Residents Safe
Vail House is a Level IV Board and Lodging Facility serving 23 adults with a history of homelessness, mental illness, and/or chemical dependency in a communal setting. Vail House is staffed 24 hours a day and is an awake position.
In response to the COVID‐19 Pandemic, the Vail House Team has worked diligently to establish strong health and safety protocols for their community. Please note that working at Vail House does require direct face‐to‐face interactions with residents.
Staff will be expected to follow Vail House protocols regarding COVID‐19 safety, including use of social distancing & personal protection measures while on shift.
Vail Place grounds will be tobacco free to promote health and wellness for the individuals we serve and for our employees.

Salary and Benefits
$13.99/hour. $0.50 Shift Differential Rate for hours work between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Up to 20 hours per week.
