Vail Place is RAGNAR-TASTIC!

By Greg a member of Vail Uptown Clubhouse

It’s August and to us in Minnesota, USA , that means we’re soaking up the sun at the RAGNAR RACE! On August 16-17, a group of Clubhouse members, staff, and volunteers will run the 200+ mile relay race to raise money for Vail Place! They call themselves the “Vail Place Recovery Rockstars” and they fight stigma by accomplishing feats that prove to the world that people with mental illnesses can dream big and do anything that people without mental illnesses can do. “I’m so proud of our team’s hard work to put this together and I look forward to our big adventure together!” shares Katie, Vail Place Intake Coordinator. “The mentally ill can perform as well as or better than people without mental disabilities in numerous perhaps even all domains!” shares Greg, Vail Uptown Clubhouse member. The team has been preparing since January to pull this off.

It’s not even race day yet and the Vail Recovery Rockstars have already raised over $3,000 through pre-race festivities. Help Vail break 2018’s $5,000 Ragnar fundraising record by donating to Vail’s Ragnar Go-Fund-Me page. What you donate will help provide food, recreation, and community as well as many other services, resources, and supports to people living with serious and persistent mental illnesses through the Clubhouse model.
