26 Sep Congressman Nolan Supports Mental Health Services for Youths
We commend Congressman Rick Nolan for meeting with mental health specialists this week to discuss if there’s enough support for mental illness in youths in the Northland, and how more help can be provided.
Congressman Nolan said, “It’s something we’ve got to give a great deal more attention to and try to fight it the way we fought polio; the way we fought AIDS; the way we’re fighting cancer and heart disease.”
Early intervention for mental illness in young people results in greater success for long-term treatment. Although more support and services for youths with mental illness will require additional funding, it is key to ensuring these youths grow into adults with productive and healthy lives.
